Joining the OTA
Membership in the Ohio Township Association is conducted on a county basis. If interested in joining, please contact your county's membership coordinator. Click here for a flyer on the benefits of OTA membership.
The Ohio Township Association has more than 5,000 active members, made up of trustees and fiscal officers from Ohio’s 1,308 townships, and more than 4,000 associate members. The OTA is comprised of 87 county township associations and membership is conducted through them. There are two types of membership in the OTA:
Active: Active membership is only available to elected township officials. Dues are $35 per year and members receive the newsletter and magazine and are encouraged to attend conferences and seminars at a discounted member rate. Townships that are not members are not eligible to participate in OTA-sponsored programs like OTARMA.
Associate: Associate membership is available to any person or company interested in township government. Townships are encouraged to register all township employees, including zoning inspectors, administrators, cemetery superintendents, and police and fire chiefs, as associate members. County officials, such as prosecutors, and local libraries, make great associate members as well. OTA associate dues are $4 per year and members receive the Ohio Township News and are encouraged to attend the annual winter conference at the member rate.
