HIGHLIGHTS

The OTA’s annual Winter Conference and Trade Show will once again be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC). The three-day educational conference consists of more than 80 workshops, a trade show with 150+ vendors and optional events for entertainment and networking opportunities. The theme of this year’s conference is “Charting Your Course.” Be sure to join us as we provide you with the tools needed to navigate your position and township government!

Public Records Training; Free | Wed., Jan. 26, 2022
Public Records Training will be available at this year’s conference. This would satisfy the requirements contained in R.C. §§109.43 and 149.43 which require that all elected officials or their designees complete public records training. You must pre-register and have a valid email address.

Legislative Reception; $20 per ticket | Wed., Jan. 26, 2022
Take this opportunity to meet with state legislators at the Ohio Statehouse and to share your ideas and concerns regarding the future of township government. Light appetizers and beverages are included and transportation will be provided to and from the Ohio Statehouse.

General Session Keynote; Free | Thurs., Jan. 27, 2022
This year, the OTA plans on inviting statewide officials to speak at the General Session. More information to come soon.

Spouse/Guest Event, $45 per ticket | Thurs., Jan. 27, 2022
Spouses and guests will enjoy a participatory dining experience at The Kitchen - Columbus. It is not a cooking class; it is an opportunity to create memories as you prepare a great meal as a group.

Casino Night; $25 per ticket | Thurs., Jan. 27, 2022
Follow the map to the Hyatt Regency Ballroom and show off your gambling skills at this casino event. Attendees will have the chance to play poker, blackjack, and more (with play money, of course). Heavy appetizers and drinks will be available. Treasure will be awarded.

Fritters with Fought; Free | Fri., Jan. 28, 2022
Join the OTA’s Executive Director, Heidi M. Fought, for fritters and coffee Friday morning. This is a great networking opportunity, especially for first-time conference attendees.

Luncheon; $30 per ticket | Fri., Jan. 28, 2022
How resilient are you? It’s a question worth asking, and this year’s luncheon speaker, Jamie Welsh, will share how to protect your resilience and reduce anxiety and burnout in the workplace. Be sure to grab a ticket for the 2022 luncheon when you register!

Ethics Training; Free | Fri., Jan. 28, 2022
Pursuant to R.C. §507.12, all fiscal officers must have two hours of ethics training each term in office as part of continuing education. This class - provided by the Ohio Ethics Commission - will satisfy that requirement.
