General township training covering broad topics and interests.

The OTA is committed to providing resources and training opportunities that cover topics of general importance and broad interest to Ohio townships. Beginning in March 2022, the OTA will be hosting monthly workshops to further educate township officials and employees on pertinent subjects.

    • Topic: Renewable Energy Development and Local Land Use Laws
    • Speaker: Peggy Hall, Associate Professor & Director, Ag & Resource Law, The Ohio State University 
    • Description: What is the role of townships in regulating solar, wind, and bioenergy facilities?  This session will review Ohio’s Senate Bill 52 and other land use laws that allow or prohibit local regulation of renewable energy development.
