Austintown Township is accepting applications for the dual position of Township Administrator/Road Superintendent.
Located in northeast Ohio, just east of the I-76/I-80 interchange, Austintown Township in Mahoning County is an urban community of approximately 36,500. The Township has a budget over $24 million, a tax base over $690 million and approximately 100 full-time employees operating a 7/24 Police, Fire and regional dispatch center and full-time Road, Park and Zoning departments.
The Township Administrator is the chief administrative officer of the township working under the policy and direction of the 3-member Board of Trustees . Statutory duties and authority are set out in Ohio Revised Code 505.032. The Road Superintendent duties involve the maintenance of 117 lane miles of township roads with a Road budget of $2.2 million. The Township provides a benefits package including, Medical, dental, vision, life, a vehicle and participation in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). The starting salary will depend upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
The ideal candidate will have at least a 4-year college degree in a relevant subject such as Public Administration, Business Management, Engineering or other related field and three to five years of either non-government or government executive experience.
