House Bill 101

The OTA supports this bill.

This bill has been signed by the Governor.

A long-standing legislative priority of the OTA, House Bill 101 clarifies the process of village dissolution by outlining the transition process and creating a Transition Supervisory Board tasked with handling the affairs of the former village, like paying off debts, resolving legal claims, and dispersing assets. While village dissolution is not common, the confusion it created for townships, which must absorb dissolved village land and residents, needed to be addressed. Effective Date: April 30, 2024.
