On November 7, 2023, Ohioans voted to legalize recreational marijuana for those 21 and older. The law specifically permits adults to possess up to 2.5 oz of marijuana or 15 g of marijuana extract. Additionally, legal adults may purchase marijuana from retail locations or grow up to six plants for personal use. This webinar, presented by IceMiller, will examine the new law and explain the differences between recreational and medical marijuana statutes. Townships will learn what rights they have to prohibit or limit adult-use cannabis operators in the township, including in townships that are not zoned, and how tax revenue is to be distributed. Additionally, the rights of the township as an employer will be reviewed.
