Governor DeWine Announces $70 Million in Grant Funding for First Responders

On Thursday, May 5, Governor DeWine announced $70 million in grant funding for first responder recruitment, retention, and resilience. This money is part of the $250 million in ARPA funding that Governor DeWine and the Ohio General Assembly has allocated to first responders. This grant money can be used for wellness programs, recruitment and retention, onboarding and training, and community engagement. 

Eligible first responder organizations include law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services. The Ohio Emergency Management Agency began accepting applications yesterday, with the final deadline being June 17, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. To access the application, please click here.
