Morris Township Awarded Historical Marker

After two years of research and submitting data to the Ohio History Connection, Morris Township in Knox County was granted a historical marker for the Morris Chapel Cemetery. In addition to the marker, the township placed a marker at the gravesites of the Snowden family. Thomas Snowden and his wife, Ellen Cooper Snowden, separately relocated to Knox County and freedom during the 1820s from Maryland. They married in 1834, and in 1850, started the Snowden Family Band.
