Nearly $393 Million Awarded for Local Infrastructure Projects, Including 19 Townships
The Ohio Public Works Commission has released $392.8 million for 678 local infrastructure projects across 87 of Ohio's 88 counties. The funding will support improvements to roads, water and wastewater systems, bridges, culverts, and stormwater infrastructure.
Road projects received the largest share of funding at $256.4 million, followed by $64.1 million for water supply projects, $35.4 million for wastewater improvements, $23.5 million for bridges and culverts, and $13.4 million for stormwater projects.
The funding also includes $37.4 million for 89 projects through the OPWC Small Government Program, which provides a second opportunity for villages and qualifying townships with populations of 5,000 or fewer to receive infrastructure assistance.
Among the recipients were 19 Ohio townships awarded funding for local infrastructure improvements:

Washington Township, Clinton County
Kingstown Township, Delaware County
Scioto Township, Delaware County
Hamilton Township, Franklin County
Royalton Township, Fulton County
Gallipolis Township, Gallia County
Valley Township, Guernsey County
Taylor Creek Township, Hardin County
Freedom Township, Henry County
York Township, Medina County
Jackson Township, Muskingum County
Freedom Township, Portage County
Perry Township, Putnam County
Twinsburg Township, Summit County
Braceville Township, Trumbull County
Bristol Township, Trumbull County
Farmington Township, Trumbull County
Plain Township, Wayne County
Townships apply through their regional public works district. Although the current funding round is closed, applications for the next round are expected to open this fall. District deadlines vary but generally fall in early to mid-fall. Projects submitted during the upcoming application period are expected to be evaluated for funding released July 1, 2027.
