Williams County Township Association Meets With Government Students

Harding Township, Lucas County, celebrated its 100th anniversary in conjunction with Ohio Township Day on February 7 at the Harding Township Hall. Residents enjoyed hot dogs, chips, and specially decorated sugar cookies from the Cookie Lady.

Attendees also had the opportunity to meet the township’s newly elected trustees and bid farewell to Milton Keener, who dedicated more than 40 years of service to Harding Township.

Milton served the township in several roles, including zoning official, cemetery sexton, and, most recently, trustee. He helped shape the township’s current zoning regulations and was instrumental in establishing the Veterans Memorial at the township cemetery. He also served on the Lucas County Improvement Corporation Board.

A Harding Township logo contest, open to township residents, was also held as part of the centennial celebration. Mary Jo Boyd received first place, and Barb Kurth placed second.
