14 Townships Awarded the 2025 NatureWorks Local Outdoor Recreation Grant Program

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources announced the recipients of the 2025 NatureWorks Local Outdoor Recreation Grant Program. This program provides reimbursement assistance for local government subdivisons for the acquisition, development, and rehabilitation of recreational areas. 
For 2025, the NatureWorks grant program awarded $2,967,910 to 76 coummunity-based projects, including 14 townships, selected from 142 applications submitted by local governments in 64 counties. Funding for the NatureWork Grant Program comes from the state's capital budget and is distributed by ODNR using a per capita formula that allocates available dollars among Ohio's 88 counties.
