The Pleasant Valley Joint Fire District is seeking a full-time Fiscal Officer / Finance and Administration Manager to serve as the District’s lead fiscal and administrative employee. This appointed administrative position is responsible for financial management, payroll, budgeting, purchasing support, benefits coordination, records management, Board support, and related office administration.
Key responsibilities include maintaining accounting and payroll records, preparing monthly financial reports, supporting budget and appropriation processes, coordinating audit documentation, processing payroll and benefits, maintaining personnel and public records, supporting purchasing and accounts payable, and preparing or supporting Board agendas, minutes, resolutions, notices, meeting packets, and official records.
Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, human resources, or a related field; at least five years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, payroll, finance, office administration, HR, public administration, or local government administration; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel; ability to become proficient in UAN or the District’s approved accounting/payroll system; bondability; valid Ohio driver’s license; and ability to pass required background checks.
Preferred qualifications include public-sector fiscal experience, Ohio township/municipal/fire district finance experience, UAN experience, Auditor of State reporting or audit experience, payroll and benefits experience, public records, and records retention experience.
Anticipated hiring salary is $75,000- 85,000 with final determination commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is expected to be eligible for District benefits consistent with Board policy and applicable law.
